2024 Day Trips

We offer a £2 discount off all the following prices for over 60's.

Pick up points throughout Marston Green, Chelmsley Wood, Castle Bromwich, Water Orton, Coleshill and Atherstone.

Small and medium size groups are welcome to join our dates or exclusive dates can be arranged for large groups of 25+

Other pick up points are sometimes available for groups of 6 plus, subject to availability and confirmation.

October

Saturday 5th October

North Yorkshire Moors Railway and Whitby

£59 per person

​

Travel by coach to Pickering to board the 12:00 North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The NYMR travels for 18 miles through the fabulous Yorkshire Moors scenery to Whitby. On route you pass 5 stations including Goathland which dates from 1865 and featured in the Heartbeat TV series and the first Harry Potter film. We have the afternoon in Whitby before returning home by coach.

Port Sunlight Village

Residential Port Sunlight is a peaceful Merseyside village founded by a Victorian - era entrepreneur to house his factory workers. It's Arts and Crafts cottages are surrounded by paths winding through fields and Woodland. Port Sunlight Museum details the village's history, and the neoclassical Lady Lever Art Gallery showcases 19th-century decorative arts. Tea rooms and cosy pubs cater to locals and day trippers.

On arrival we will have a guided tour on the coach around the village before exploring the village on foot and visiting the museum and art gallery.

We have a scenic autumn tour through the Cotswolds as we head for the Wiltshire village of Castle Coombe one of UK's prettiest villages. With no new houses built since 1600s, the village is a perfectly preserved slice of medieval history and architacture, and is regularly used as a film location.

Churchill's War Rooms & Battersea Power Station

 We head to London and King Charles Street in Whitehall where have a visit to the underground nerve center where the British government directed the Second World War. Explore this underground bunker in the heart of London where Britain's leaders plotted the allied route to victory. Next you'll find out about Churchill's remarkable 90-year-life, leadership and legacy, from his lonely childhood to his military career, two periods as Prime Minister and beyond in the interactive Churchill Museum.

From here we follow the Thames to the former Battersea Power Station, This is one of London's most famous landmarks and the Grade 11 listed icon is now open to the public. It now houses over 100 shops, restaurants and cafes in a riverside location.

Chester is a great place to visit any time of the year with its rows of black and white timbered houses and medieval city walls, but in the lead up to Christmas it is a extra special treat with some 70 festive stalls around the city centre.

The High Peak Canal trip with Christmas Lunch

Another visit to our old favourite this time for a Christmas treat as we travel via Buxton to Whaley Bridge where we board the 'Judith Mary' for a relaxing 2 - hour cruise whilst enjoying a 2 - course lunch and enjoying the scenery and tranquillity of the High Peak canal. Our lunch will be Turkey Sandwiches served with Roast Potatoes, pigs in blankets and stuffing followed by mince pies and cream. There is a licensed bar and drinks including tea and coffee can be purchased.

With over 200 chalets spread out across Bath's picturesque Georgian streets you are sure to find thoses last minute Christmas gifts or you may want to just experience the magical festive atmosphere in the lovely city.

Bridgnorth and Christmas Carvery Lunch at the Down Inn

We have a stop in the of Bridgnorth then travel the short distance to the Down Inn for a 2- course carvery lunch. The Down Inn is set within the rolling hills of Shropshire with country views all around and offers delicious home cooked food.

Enjoy a luxury festively decorated steam hauled dining experience on the East Lancashire Railway, includes a sparkling perry on arrival and a 3- course lunch of Winter Root Vegetable Soup with Croutons and Chopped Coriander, Traditional Roasted Turkey with Kilted Chipolatas, Stuffing Balls and Seasonal Vegetables followed by homemade Christmas Pudding with Rum Sauce plus tea or coffee Vegetarian option on request.
