
Ashbourne, Hartington & Matlock Bath

44The fabulous scenery of the Derbyshire Dales awaits us today as we head first to the lovely town of Ashbourne. (Arrive 11:30 depart 13:00). Next, we visit Hartington (13:15 to 14:30) Finally we make our way to Matlock Bath (15:30 to 17:30) where we have included fish and chips. Please note there is a 500-yard level walk from Matlock Bath Coach Park to the Fish & Chip Restaurant.

Royal Leamington Spa and Hill Close Gardens

NEW: We have a morning visit to the lovely town of Leamington Spa with its Regency architecture and broad boulevards. The Victorian Jephson’s Gardens feature exotic plants, a lake and sculptures and a café. The Royal Pump Rooms feature a museum and art gallery with free admission.
This afternoon we continue to Hill Close Gardens which overlook Warwick Race Course. Here you will find a collection of 16 unique Victorian detached gardens created as leisure gardens by tradespeople in Warwick in the 1800s. Special features are the croquet lawn, auricula theatres, plant heritage collection, display of antique garden equipment and large green house for tender plants. Light refreshments are available plus a shop and plant sales.

Cheddar Gorge

A fun day out today with lots to see and do from the speciality shops and fabulous show caves (admission optional and payable on the day). Our approach will be via Burrington Coombe and the top of the Mendip Hills and we then descend through the gorge with the scenery get more dramatic as we go. Watch out for the goats on the rocks as we drive through. We arrive about 12:30 with the afternoon to explore the gorge and the village before rejoining the coach at 17:00 to head for home.

Enjoy a quintessential British treat with a vintage twist, our steam train Staffordshire cream tea combines the elegance and charm of 1960s train travel with the pleasures of a traditional English cream tea for a truly unique experience. Our train departs from Froghall Station at 13:30 and the return journey takes approximately 2 hours.
In the morning, we will make a stop in the town of Leek, known as ‘The Queen of the Staffordshire Moorlands’. This former textile town has a stone cobbled market square and well-preserved architecture
gorge and the village before rejoining the coach at 17:00 to head for home.

Tewkesbury and the Cotswolds Shopping Village

This iconic new shopping destination opened in 2025 and features over 40 stores including an M&S Outlet and a Dobbies ‘Flagship’ Garden Centre. Plenty of places here to grab a bite to eat before we head for home.
